This Meetup group is for those of us who love to hike with our dogs. We seek out the best dog-friendly trails in Oakland and nearby cities. We meet in small groups and our goal is fun for our dogs in a safe and friendly group. Our canine membership is very diverse ranging from a 6 pound Mini to a 180 pound Great Dane. We have a variety of breeds and mixes with all kinds of backgrounds. Dogs are social creatures just like their humans and the group interaction on our hikes is great for the dog's …
Come out and meet other local runners for great camaraderie and motivation. Some of us jog, some of us run, some of us race, but we all have fun! The key is to show up and give it a try -- the sooner you come out and join us, the sooner you will be on the road to fitness, health, and meeting lifelong running friends!

We used to be P. A. Running Opportunities Plus. Based on feedback from the members who come to the runs, now it's Running Around The SanFranciscoBay (RATS). It's mostly running. Mostly. #1. We are run by volunteers that schedule and lead a run from time to time. That is our meetup, active volunteers and organizers. What ever organizers like to do is what we become. (Let me know if you want to try and lead a run and see if you'd like to be an Asst Organizer). #2. We plan to also host a wiki page …
A Runner's Mind is the new running shoe specialty store in Burlingame. We have Thursday Night Runs every week at 7pm beginning and ending at the store at 1199 Howard Ave., Bgame. (or get your autograph if you run a 4 minute mile!) Bring your flashlights and reflective gear during these dark winter runs. Ro …

This meetup offers two meetup activities, each of which I enjoy greatly and look forward to sharing time outdoors with others who come to these meetup events. The first is organizing these non-competitive social triathlons described below. A second activity is organizing longer trail runs in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Social Triathlons! After doing a few competitive triathlons myself, a friend gave me the idea to create my own friends based, non competitive, "social" triathlon events. Unlike re …
Picnic Dash Productions coordinates fun running events in Golden Gate Park that sponsor the Brighter Sky Foundation, a nonprofit that places social workers in public schools with high dropout rates. Races are held every 4-6 weeks and are sleep-in-and-enjoy-your-weekend friendly (races start at 2pm). Food and drinks are provided after each race, along with zany and useful prizes for the top competitors.
There are so many hiking groups, but I wanted to start a group for runners like me that prefer to run the trails than the streets.
We sponsor 2-6 hikes/events per month, ranging from beginner level to very advanced. While our primary focus is on hiking, camping, and backpacking, we also do other outdoor adventures - mud runs, zip lines, kayaking, white water rafting, skydiving, paragliding, rock climbing (indoor and outdoor), 4-season mountaineering, skiing/boarding, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snow/ice climbing, scuba - if it's an outdoor sport we're all over it! The goal is to make new friends while enjoying the …

These mission-to-mission walks are open to all who enjoy nature, art, history. And walking. Though many of the walks are between 16-22 miles, they're set at a reasonable pace and are easy to train for. Why'd You Start the Group? Long story short: In March 2011 I walked 330 miles of the Camino de Santiago, a 1,200 year-old pilgrimage route in Spain. I lived with very little for 3 weeks. I experienced nature, art, and history. I met people from all around the world on the same simple quest - to r …

Do you want to explore San Francisco by foot? Tired of your usual routes, but want to stay in the city? Do you sometimes think "there have to be some great places to run in this city"? Well, you're right, there are, and we're going to run them. This group is for those who love to run, and also would like to explore SF and learn some new go-to routes. Runs will be scheduled frequently, and will always leave from, and stay within, the city limits. Other than those restrictions, we'll be free to g …

For those who love to run, but only have time to get out at night! For people who can handle the cold and fog...and werewolves and monsters. Bring a flashlight and come out! We can play it by ear and run a different trail every week and play games on and off the track. Meet at Kezar track at 8PM on the scheduled day and message me if you have questions.
This is a group for beginner to intermediate runners. We meet each Saturday morning at 8:30am outside the gym, Overtime Fitness (1625 N. Shoreline Blvd. Mountain View). The people in this group live around the Sunset in San Francisco. And we like to run! Sunday afternoons are the usual meet for a good distance run. We will have at least one run on weekends. We will also have other times of running throughout the week, most often in the morning. If you're in your 20-30s (or do enough yoga), you're probably capable of this, right? So join us! Do it, because you'll love it.

This is a group for anyone interested in running, training, jogging, walking, hiking with others along the beautiful trails and hills in the Coyote Hills Regional Park in Fremont. All skills levels are welcome. I started this group because I realize that training or running alone is very difficult and can be very unsafe. This is also a group for those training for a marathon or half marathon or any other distance event. I have run 16 marathons and several half marathons and I can help you get to …
