It all started as a way to combine getting a run in at my favorite micro-brew pub, and now I'd love to expand it further! We'll use this group as a way to do our Iron Springs Pub Runs, both winter and summer, but also to introduce more training runs, both trail and road, both on the streets of San Anselmo, Ross and Fairfax and the trails of Mt. Tam!
There are so many hiking groups, but I wanted to start a group for runners like me that prefer to run the trails than the streets.

If you love the rush and beauty of running in the Bay Area, are new to town, or are just interested in getting a great workout while meeting others with common interests, this group is for you. The best way to summarize this group is: We put in the miles, but we aren't in a hurry. I am both a newbie to the Bay Area and a new runner, but I have completely fallen for both. I usually do trail runs, either in Marin or in the city. Let's try to do a mix of runs, in terms of both location and trail vs …
The purpose of this group is to unite runners in our community in the spirit of support, camaraderie, inspiration, and FUN! We welcome runners of all paces and abilities for a mix of trail and road running in Marin, the East Bay, and San Francisco. We offer weekday runs in the morning and evening, and weekend runs in the morning. Mileage will vary from around 5 to 20+, but runners are always welcome to adjust mileage to meet their needs. We also plan social events like brunch, happy hour, din …

This is a group for those who live around Lake Merritt and want to run as well with a group. It's always easiest to start a running routine when you are in a group.
Come out and meet other local runners for great camaraderie and motivation. Some of us jog, some of us run, some of us race, but we all have fun! The key is to show up and give it a try -- the sooner you come out and join us, the sooner you will be on the road to fitness, health, and meeting lifelong running friends!
Picnic Dash Productions coordinates fun running events in Golden Gate Park that sponsor the Brighter Sky Foundation, a nonprofit that places social workers in public schools with high dropout rates. Races are held every 4-6 weeks and are sleep-in-and-enjoy-your-weekend friendly (races start at 2pm). Food and drinks are provided after each race, along with zany and useful prizes for the top competitors.
Hello. Kelly here...Was amazed to find that the closest baby jogging group was almost 50 miles away from Marin County! Why not strap our little ones into our baby joggers and run right here in beautiful Marin? With all the beautiful trails and paths that these towns offer, we should be able to find some safe and fun routes, no matter what your running/jogging ability. Let's plan on meeting at the Corte Madera town park by the kids play space on Wednesdays at 10 am during winter hours with new ho …

We are the West Coast chapter of the She-E-Os! Welcome! 1. Who are the She-E-Os? She-E-O was started in Boston by Robin Chase (former founder/CEO of Zipcar) and Bettina Hein (founder/CEO of Pixability). Here is an excerpt from a Nov 2011 Boston Globe article: The (new) old girls’ network: Women entrepreneurs who’ve stepped off the corporate ladder to build their own businesses and help others do the same Because many of these women are running their businesses 24/7, the group provide …

… Currently, I'm mapping a walking route on the Camino Real, which traced some indigenous footpaths and may have been part of the migration trail from Asia. In early April, I'll start the "official" California Missions walk, covering 800+ miles in about 55 days. Afterward, I'll create a free, online trail guide - so that anyone can walk it too. Though the missions can be reminders of the often cruel legacy of the Spanish crown, the path and the journey are timeless. Everyone who follows it will h …
… For your own safety please don't wear sandals or flip flops on any hikes. Trail shoes, hiking boots, and in some cases good quality sneakers (but generally trail shoes or boots are highly recommended) will ensure you're a lot more comfortable and safe. Hats will also save your neck from sunburn. Layers are generally recommended as you may get hotter/colder during a hike. Avoid cotton materials in favor of moisture-wicking or quick-dry materials whenever possible. 2) Water and food: Typicall …
This Meetup group is for those of us who love to hike with our dogs. We seek out the best dog-friendly trails in Oakland and nearby cities. We meet in small groups and our goal is fun for our dogs in a safe and friendly group. Our canine membership is very diverse ranging from a 6 pound Mini to a 180 pound Great Dane. We have a variety of breeds and mixes with all kinds of backgrounds. Dogs are social creatures just like their humans and the group interaction on our hikes is great for the dog's …
