The Hash House Harriers (H3) is a “drinking club with a running problem” — or, more specifically, an international group of noncompetitive running clubs that enjoy socialization and drinking before, during and after their runs. A hash is modeled after an old-fashioned British paper chase. One hasher, designated as a “hare,” marks out a trail using chalk or flour, usually setting false trails and obstacles along the way. Fellow hashers, known as the “pack,” follow the hare’s trail, which traditio …
We are one of several hashes in the northeast, and the most recent incarnation of the Groton chapter of the Hash House Harriers. We meet Saturdays at 3:00pm, socialize a bit, and then go running/walking along a trail set by a member (the hare). Our trails wind through the Mystic, Groton, and New London area, involve at least 1 beer check (for those 21 and older), and end with a festive, baudy and welcoming gathering (the circle). Once a month, we travel to New Haven to join our nearest kennel, …

THERE IS NOTHING more natural than hiking through nature barefoot. The soles of your feet and toes are wonderful sensory organs and the myriad of feelings from earth, grass, moss, pine-needles, and mud are wonderful. Many could not see hiking any other way. HIKING BAREFOOT causes virtually no trail erosion since a bare foot makes much less of an imprint than a booted foot. Bare feet are therefore the environmentally sound choice for hiking. THE BAREFOOT HIKERS are groups of people who enjoy hiki …
Walking barefoot through nature is a fun and rewarding way to exercise your feet. When hiking barefoot the feel of cool dirt, smooth rocks, soft pine needles, and crisp leaves all add to the delight of the hike. You feel connected to the earth. In the absence of dry leaves you are silent. We are a group of barefoot hikers located in Eastern Mass who enjoy getting together for hikes of varying intensity. Whether you are a seasoned barefoot hiker, a beginner, or even if you've never hiked, come jo …

Running with your audio cues might be helpful and all, but we're super excited about meeting in-person to hear all about your race accomplishments, training tips and challenges along the way.
