Let's get together on Sat, September 7th at the Mariner's Museum Park for the 2013 Race for HOPE 5K/ 1 Mile run/walk. Funds raised will help children in Sierra Leone. 5K starts at 8:30am and the 1 Mile fun run at 9am. We are the oldest continuously running hash in the United States. We meet Saturdays at 3:00pm, socialize a bit, and then go running/walking along a trail set by a member (the hare). Our trails wind through the wilds of the beautiful Hampton Roads Peninsula (Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg, York County), involve at least 1 beer check (for those 21 and older), and end with a festive, baudy and welcoming gathering (the circle). Hello we are a collection of mostly busy professionals that like to run. There may be periods of slower activity due to extreme heat or cold. Come out and join us when you can. If you see no runs you can make or want to explore a new area feel free to suggest a run. Each meet is different however, we generally meet and great and then people typically split into groups to set their own pace or pair off with someone running close to their level. This is a group of local Suffolk area runners, walkers and cyclists who are interested in meeting up to run, walk or bike with friends. Distances will range from 3 miles to 22 miles depending on what group members are training for at any given time. Regardless of your running or walking ability, you will find motivation and camaraderie as we strive for our fitness goals.
This group is to promote fun, interesting and challenging events (biking/hiking/running/orienteering/adventure racing/travel/backpacking/kayaking/rock climbing ect.)
